Sottosanti studied art at the Beaux Arts Institute, ASL, and the Da Vinci School in NYC. Inspired by the works of Orozco, he toured Mexico on a motorcycle in 1939 and then settled in San Francisco. As an employee of the WPA, he assisted Diego Rivera on murals for the GGIE on Treasure Island in 1939. His subjects include women, Mexican scenes, and Chinatown in all media. (Hughes, 1989)
