A symbol of Buddhism and a vision of purity, beauty, and light, this lotus blossom radiates against the dark backdrop. Bay Area artist Mark Adams found inspiration in the flowers growing by Lake Toba, Sumatra. Formally trained as a painter, Adams worked in several media throughout his career.
